March 2024 Newsletter.
3rd April 2024Dear Parents,
What another extremely busy term!
We celebrated World Book Day with the children wearing some fabulous costumes and bringing in and sharing their favourite books, and to continue to encourage our love of books, don’t forget our book swap boxes so you can swap books any time you like.
We listened and danced to different types of music, painted and drew. We played with shapes in play foam and the guttering in the garden. We got messy with mash and chia seeds. We brought a tear or two to our mummies’ eyes with our Mother’s Day gifts and made our parents and friends and family laugh and cry at our ‘Easter Play,’ where we put Grumpy Grandad in the longboat and sent him over, were little pirates jumping on the plank and mermaids escaping from Jaws! And all the while we were have lots of fun, we were developing our social and emotional skills, our creative, mathematical, writing, gross and fine motor skills, and lots, lots more.
I wish staff, children and parents an enjoyable Easter break.
Wendy Perkins (Manager)

Children’s belongings
Please ensure children do not wear their best clothing to pre-school: painting overalls are provided but accidents can still happen. The pre-school has its own design of sweatshirts and t-shirts for sale. Children should not bring sweets or wear jewellery to pre-school. Please label all of your child’s belongings, including their bags, lunch boxes and any toys etc that the children bring into the pre-school, especially on Fridays for ‘show-and-tell.’
Water bottles
As part of our Healthy Eating ethos we sell water bottles for the children printed with the St. Luke’s teddy logo. These cost just £2 each. All bottles are marked with the child’s name & children are encouraged to take a drink at any time. Bottles are refilled when running low. The bottles need to be collected at the end of each session, washed at home & returned to pre-school at the beginning of the next session. Lastly, a reminder that the bottles should be filled with water only please (no squash).
Your pre-school
We value your contributions to improving your child’s education & care whilst at St. Luke’s. If you or your son/daughter, have any concerns or worries, or any comments or suggestions, you are welcome to come in to chat with a member of staff: an appointment may be necessary. Remember, if we don’t know, we can’t help …
